I just finished watching episodes 3 and 4 (which you have to watch) of Jun Ji Hyun and Lee Minho’s latest drama release, Legend of the Blue Sea, and I had to post an appreciation post for Jun Ji Hyun’s gorgeous mermaid hair. Jun Ji Hyun’s character is that of the mermaid Sim Cheong, who conjures up a romance with pretty-boy swindler Heo Joon Jae (aka Lee Minho). It’s a MUST WATCH! Especially for fantasy/romcom lovers~
(BE AWARE spoiler-haters: there may be some unintentional spoilers!)
Ok. Now that’s it for my kdrama fan rant.. I promise?
When I saw Jun Ji Hyun’s hair in this drama, I had to stop and screenshot it. I mean, it’s the PERFECT mermaid hair~ Long, soft, loose, wavy curls falling past the shoulders…
Jun Ji Hyun is famous for being the start of many different trends. The Cheon Song Yi hairstyle from My Love from Another Star blew up in Asia and the lip tint worn by Jun Ji Hyun from that same drama was sold out in all stores and almost impossible to buy. It seems “Jun Ji Hyun’s mermaid hair” will the next trending search term.
See through bangs are a part of the the overall bangs come-back trend that is seen everywhere these days, especially in the Hallyu world. Many female Korean idol stars are getting their bangs cut again, and Kdrama actresses are always seen loving this trend. Bangs are a very popular style among Korean women (celebrities included), … Read more See Through Bangs Trend
Bangs have been around for a long time and they’ve been making a comeback recently! Numerous Kpop and Kdrama starts have been seen with blunt, soft, long, grown-out bang styles but today we’re introducing you the newest wild-style: choppy-bangs.
This style has been trending in the Hallyu-sphere among many actresses and Kpop girl group members. It almost looks like a wig, with the forehead being exposed and the center of the face heavily accentuated.
So who’s been brave enough to try this look?
Jung Yoo Mi’s choppy-bangs are contrasted by her long hair. Her bangs are cut right above her eyebrows, making her already baby-face look much younger. This styles look very suitable for winter seasons, when you need thick, turtleneck sweaters and your thick, long hair for warmth, right? (Ladies you know what I mean)
Sulli has been a hot-topic this year, whether for good or bad reasons. Sulli is the epitome of this look. This choppy-bang look has been all over her Instagram lately, as she’s been showing off this new, versatile style. As seen, this look tends to make her seem much younger and more youthful.
Here Jo Yoon Hee shows us a short bob with her choppy-bangs. Although her bangs are above the brows, this isn’t as noticeable due to the minimized length-difference between her bangs and her actual hair. Tucking her hair behind one ear makes for a lady-like vibe.
Jun So Min also tried the short bob with choppy bangs look, and pulls it off flawlessly! By putting C-curls in her bangs and at the ends of her hair, she emphasizes a girlish, softer look. I would strongly recommend this look for the ladies who want to try out choppy-bangs and short hair. Trust me, you can pull it off!
Lee Sung Kyung recently transformed her image to that of a hard-working weightlifter in the upcoming Kdrama: Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, starring opposite the ever-so-handsome flower boy Nam Joo Hyuk. For her new drama stills, she is seen with uneven choppy-bangs. This asymmetrical look, along with her light-colored hair gives her the impression of a young, innocent girl.
Lizzy sports a very short but choppy, bang hairstyle. This, along with her thick hair, emphasizes a cuter look.
Now for the ladies who want to keep their long hair and try this trending choppy-bang look. Actress Han Bo Reum is seen with her bangs cut in a straight line. Her thinned-out bangs make for an almost see-through look. Her long hair with these see-through bangs gives off a more refined image.
Nicole is also seen with uneven choppy bangs. This hairstyle, with her dark locks, looks much more natural. It makes her look stronger and gives her a “queen of the office” vibe. It totally changes the usual “cute maknae Nicole” image.
So who do you think pulled off the choppy bangs look? And who do you think looks better without? Be sure to let us know in the comments below!
Jealousy Incarnate is ending this week! It may be a happy occasion for all the drama marathoners out there, but for most of us who’ve been there from episode 1, we’re sad to see it go so soon. To celebrate the finale of the long-awaited Korean drama Jealousy Incarnate, here we present you with some of Gong Hyo Jin’s hairstyles seen throughout the talked-about drama of the year.
Gong Hyo Jin’s character in the Korean drama is a free spirited and hard-working weather caster at the broadcasting station. Thus, her hairstyles are usually very simple. Here we see her with her hair down. The slight S-waves give her hair more texture and body. It’s a perfect style to try for those who don’t like doing a lot with their hair.
Gong Hyo Jin can really pull off a ponytail. It’s just a ponytail but why does it look so different on her ㅠㅠ
Gong Hyo Jin’s bangs and hair part are on point in this scene. She’s started her part from right above her eyebrows and blow dryed her bangs to frame her face. This completes a ladylike look.
The messy half-up is a classic, tousled look for all us lazy ladies.
Who says the half up has to be kept messy? Gong Hyo Jin wore her hair in a neat half-updo during her Jealousy Incarnate promotions. She didn’t just leave this look for the screen, but during all her busy schedules, as well!
We’re all sad to see Jealousy Incarnate near its end, but Gong Hyo Jin’s character Pyo Na Ri has shown us numerous, classic hairstyles that we can try from the comfort of our home!

Fall is the perfect season for taking strolls outside, staring wide-eyed at all the beautiful fall foliage, and…buying everything with the words Pumpkin Spice. (Cuz let’s be real: We’ve all been there)
An important part of the fall season is fall fashion and with fashion come hairstyles. So here our five updos that will be the perfect match for your fall fashion!
A very easy updo, the high ponytail is a favorite among all of us, isn’t it? So simple but suited for any event. It also shows off your collarbone and emphasizes your jawline. Who doesn’t like that?
This glamorous half-updo is perfect for all us girly-girls or those who want to change up their image and look more ladylike this fall. Half up & half down, curly or straight, side or middle part, anything works with this do. It’s literally the best of both worlds!
Depending on where you put your bun, this hairdo can make you look cute or lovely. It also has the magical effect of making your face look smaller. It’s the perfectly natural “I actually didn’t try but you can’t even tell” fall hairstyle.
This is the hairstyle that Korean actress Soo Ae wore as her flight attendant character in her currently airing Kdrama: Stranger in My House. This neat, perfectionist hair-updo is perfect for formal occasions when you need to dress to impress.
The braid is one of those hairstyles that look unique without anything special done to it. Of course, the look changes slightly depending on how or where you put your braid. Korean actress Ha Ji won is seen with a loose, low braid, perfect for days spent traveling. Meanwhile, Sulli is seen with the currently trending choppy bangs and a tightly braided ponytail, showing a cuter and more youthful image.
These five hair updos are perfect for your fall fashion! Hopefully you got some inspiration from these Korean celebrity styles… And it won’t be long until this warmer weather turns chilly, so try these out for fall~~
