It’s reasonable to say that Show Me the Money 5 is THE program that officially shot rapper BewhY to stardom, and as a popular show with five seasons and a strong lineup of contestants, its judges (as well as producers) sported the trendiest of trends in both the worlds of fashion as well as hair. Today we’ll focus on Korean rapper Gray’s comma hairstyle that has been making waves around the underground rapper scene; Cuz even if you’re not a fan of the show, it’s always nice to get a few styling tips here and there, right?
The important aspect of the comma hairstyle is the signature C-shaped curl you see above. Although the ideal length for hair to keep this perfect curl would be to the length of your eyebrows, Gray’s look here reminds us that you can still work this look with shorter hair. Gray’s front hair is a little shorter than the average length but this gives a unique style and flair to his look~ The way both sides are curled inwards is also a change from the usual one-sided-curl comma hairstyle. With several ways to create the look, from hair dryer to straightener to curling wand… All it takes is a few blows of hot air and optional hairspray and *poof* there you have it!
For those of us new to the comma hair trend, or wanting to try it out yourself, here’s a good tutorial to follow for the perfect comma hair. Or you can click the related link at the bottom of the page that will show you step by step how you can style this hairstyle.

Having recently announced the dates of his Asia Fan Meeting tour*, young actor Park Bo Gum is a rising star in the world of Hallyu. He’s recently shot to stardom with his Kdrama : Moonlight Drawn By Clouds, starring opposite Kim Yoo Jung. His popularity has increased after being seen with the latest *hot* trend: the comma hairstyle. Park Bo Gum is wearing the signature Asian bowl-cut here, but still pulls it off flawlessly! The angled cut of his bangs gives this signature haircut a new flare.

ALL UP HAIR:
All up AND slicked back, this hairstyle is the epitome of a gentleman. A clean-cut look for all the handsome lads.
This all-up style is all about volume. With a blow-out look, this hairstyle emphasizes volume and thick hair. The flicked ends of the hairstyle open up the actors handsome face so that it stands out all the more.
Park Bo Gum is wearing the middle part, which we’ve already ravedabout HERE <–
This is the 7:3 hair part that we’ve kept talking about; one of my personal favorites. This asymmetrical style gives off a flair that the other parting styles can’t.
The comma hair trend is booming everywhere, whether that’s among the hottest kpop idols or the rising actors of the Kdrama scene. Park Bo Gum has also worn this hairstyle during photoshoots and fan-meetings. It’s currently one of his most popular hairstyles for men.

And what better fashion inspiration is there than the very celebrities who started this trend? We’ll be finding the best outfit pairings for this hairstyle by looking at what trending Kpop Idols and Korean Actors wear to compliment this “comma” hairstyle.
1st Category: Formal Wear
It seems that checkered patterned suits are a popular item of choice for celebs rocking the comma hair trend in a formal way. SHINee’s Key and Actor Park Bo Gum from the hit drama Reply 1988, have both made appearances wearing these kinds of suits with their trending hairstyles. Showcasing a more semi-formal appeal, the two Hallyu stars’ outfits shown below would be perfect for casual work meetings.
Overview of Park Bo Gum’s Outfit+Dupes

Dupe: Saddlebred Long Sleeve Gingham Plaid Oxford Shirt-$25 (Any plaid black/grey and white oxford shirt found in any department store)

As usual, the classic formal men’s look also matches well with this hairstyle. Really, what hairstyle doesn’t look good with this perfectly simple outfit? The usual black suit and tie is a classic, and adding a coat with a deep red/brown colors would be perfect for fall. This look, worn by Korean Actor Yoo Seung Ho in his drama Remember, shows the common style of men’s formal wear, adding a bit of warm red for the fall. A nice way to add in a bit of color, or at least when you’re outside.
2nd Category: Winter Casual
It’s that time of year again. And no, I’m not talking about the long, miserable nights spent shoveling piles of snow in freezing weather, or the tireless voting and frustration that happens when trying to vote for Seventeen during the 2017 MAMAs (Time to reset my 13 different passwords again), although that term would fit in with describing those events as well. As November rolls around, it’s the time of year for all things cozy-hot chocolate, wool blankets, and of course, warm sweaters. The most common fashion trend of this fall/winter seems to be the “comma” hair with a warm knit sweater, being worn from popular idol group members to rising Hallyu actors. Turtleneck sweaters in particular seem to be a growing trend in these cold winter months.

This last pairing is the most commonly seen on idols, such as EXO’s Chanyeol and Seventeen’s Mingyu. Although the style is often worn with a casual bomber jacket or sweater, simpler outfits consisting of a solid colored dress shirt, are also able to complement the hairstyle for a casual look. For more simple/basic street looks, the common trend is to wear a plain T-shirt, jeans, and have a bomber jacket/sweater be the main point of your outfit. However, remember that streetwear really has no limits. Dig around in your closet, mix and match outfits that you think looks best. The possibilities are endless.
