SEVENTEEN MINGYU’S HALF-DYED HAIR

Seventeen has recently wrapped up their fan meeting series in Korea and even celebrated the group’s 1st anniversary! The members of Seventeen always have unique looks in their MVs, and BoomBoom was no exception.Today we’ll be stepping back in time to one of (in my opinion) THE best hairstyles yet – Mingyu’s half-dyed hair.

 

You’ll notice an interesting dyeing style was used to create Mingyu’s unique look. Only the longer block of hair is dyed while the short, buzzed section of the two block is left at its natural color. This creates an interesting effect.

 

Mingyu’s Half-Dyed Hair : Cool Blue

You’ve likely seen this hairstyle roaming around the internet, and for good reason. The Cool Blue Hair Color* is the currently trending hair color for guys in 2017!

Who else just seriously fell in love with Mingyu in this scene of Seventeen’s MV – Mansae?!

 

Mingyu’s Half-Dyed Hair: Grey/Silver

This color is another fan favorite.

Essentially it’s a blend of icy grey with tints of the cool blue hair color talked about earlier.

 

Mingyu’s Half-Dyed Hair: Blonde

While this hair color wasn’t worn for long, it definitely got fans’ attention.

 

Mingyu’s Half-Dye Hair: The Cut

Now, hair color only makes up half the hairstyle. What actually makes this style so special is how the haircut and hair color come together so perfectly.

Mingyu’s haircut is very similar to GOT7 Bambam’s Unbalanced Two Block Haircut. They both have the undercut, but Mingyu’s undercut goes all the way to the back of his head. So while Bambam’s hairstyle sits upwards, Mingyu’s hairstyle creates natural volume at the center of his hair.

When this cut is met with the unique dyeing style previously mentioned, it creates a two block effect, which definitely turned people’s heads!

Mingyu’s hair part* also plays an important part in this style. The deep 7:3 ratio part creates the ‘unbalanced‘ hair look while emphasizing Mingyu’s sharp jawline.
