Female Kpop Idols Wearing Ultra Violet- Color of 2018

It’s January 1st, which means that it’s the beginning of a new year! And with every new year comes new fashion trends and inspiration. One major fashion trend that always changes is the color and pattern choices that everyone wears! We, of course, all like to use the official color of the year that is announced annually by Pantone. Last year’s official color of the year was “Greenery,” and with the announcement of that new color, new fashion and makeup looks were created, and this year is no different! This year’s color of the year is “Ultra Violet,” which is a deep, other-worldly purple shade. I personally don’t have a ton of purple clothes, but I do really want to give this color a try! “Ultra Violet” has been worn before by many Kpop idols in stunning ways, so why not give it a go this year? If you’re struggling to find the outfit inspiration, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Take a look at Female Kpop Idols Wearing Ultra Violet, and see if you find anything that you want to wear!

Female Kpop Idols Wearing Ultra Violet

Red Velvet’s Irene

Irene is a visual goddess for 3rd generation female idols, and it’s hard to find someone that wouldn’t want her style! Her group, Red Velvet, is well-known for their quirky music and fashion, and visuals like hers manage to pull off anything that gets thrown in her direction. Here, she’s wearing a super wearable, winter outfit, with a warm sweater and a blue, black, and purple overall skirt. Of course, if you want to give it a go, it might be smarter to wear leggings instead of stocking, just so you don’t freeze out in the cold, but this is a solid look!

Blackpink’s Jennie

Jennie is also a member of the 3rd generation’s visual team, so it’s no surprise she pulls this color off perfectly as well! Here, she’s wearing a ruffled, silky top that gives off mature and sophisticated vibes.

Twice’s Jihyo

Jihyo went for a softer, more feminine take on the ultra violet trend. She chose a simple white blouse as her top, and then added a patterned skirt with all shades of purple! It’s cute and simple!

Lovelyz’s Kei

Kei, and all of Lovelyz, pulled off the Ultra Violet color in the cutest way possible! They went for the “schoolgirl” look, but with all shades of purple! Ruffles in their blouses and blazers definitely made the color look super flattering and cute!

Blackpink’s Rose

Rose wore the purple in a much more hip and androgynous way than what we’ve seen so far. Her oversize purple sweater, paired with what looks like red gym shorts, looks so comfortable, yet chic, at the same time! Anyone that wants a more laid-back look can definitely try this outfit out!

AOA’s Seolhyun

Seolhyun is also a household name within the visual world of Kpop, and it’s pretty easy to see why. I mean, is there any outfit that doesn’t look good on her? Out of all the outfits of female kpop idols wearing ultra violet, I think this one is my favorite. Seolhyun keeps it simple and classy in this outfit, with a sleek, mesh-like, sleeveless top, and this beautiful wrap-around skirt! Since she kept all her other outfit choices low-key, the color of her skirt really was able to stand out!

The Uniform Look in Kpop

Anyone who’s even vaguely familiar with Kpop has probably seen at least one group with the school girl/boy concept. So many groups have tried it, that it would be hard to even think of a group that hasn’t at least experimented with the concept a bit. From boy groups to girl groups, no one’s left out of this concept! And even if you haven’t a lot of the school concept outfit designs are in the everyday outfits of idols. Flared skirts, blazers, clean blouses, and those huge bows around the collar aren’t always used in a uniform look. They’re still used with other outfit combinations for even more fashion trends! But, the Uniform Look is such a classic staple in the Kpop Fashion world, that I felt like we would have to make at least one post about it! It’s been around for as long as time, but we’ll just shorten it down to some of the most recent and popular outfits that we’ve been seeing, from both the guys and girls!

The Uniform Look

Astro kept it nice and simple in their photos for their first mini-album, “Spring Up,” with matching outfits! A white blazer and a tie was all they needed to pull in the look.

A lot of times, the uniform looks are usually used for bright and youthful concepts, and it’s become a trend lately for rookie girl groups to use those concepts. But, when Blackpink had their latest comeback with “As if It’s Your Last,” they used the uniform look for a totally different concept! To a lot of the fans’ surprise, they chose to stick with their girl crush concept, and used the uniforms to keep them looking sophisticated and chic.

A lot of casual BTS fans might be surprised to learn that BTS did, in fact, have a school-boy phase. So far, it’s been proven pretty much inevitable to have this phase in the Kpop world. For this comeback, “Just One Day,” BTS usually came out in these outfits, with their white blazers and preppy sweaters.

Gfriend is one of the hallmark girl groups of the schoolgirl concept among the third-generation idols. And for their comeback with ‘Rough,” they went along with the uniforms to match their innocent concept! For their album cover, they each had their own small touches on their outfits. While they all had the same classic, plaid skirt, they mixed and matched each of their sweaters and ribbons to add some nice touches.

When Lovelyz first debuted, they definitely caught my eye with their matching uniforms! Even though it’s such a classic look, the matching uniform trend seemed to die out a bit before their debut. But, with their debut and other girl groups using the school girl concept, it caught back on and is still trending!

Korean Lip Care for the Winter

korean kpop boy band group bts jin jungkook bap yongguk korean lip care winter skincare men guys kpopstuff

Winter’s here, and for most of us skincare junkies, that means it’s time to add those extra two moisturizing steps into your daily routine. And, who can blame us for that? When the temperatures are below freezing and the wind is constantly blowing at 75 miles per hour every time you step outside, not putting on those extra layers of moisture seems like skin suicide. But, while we pile loads and loads of different serums and moisturizers, we forget to another important part of our face-our lips. Almost all of us will completely toss our lip care aside, but I think that we forget how important our lips are for looking healthy. Your skin could be glowing, but if your lips and crackling and pale, you’ll still look like you just climbed out of a hospital bed. There’s a reason why so many k-idols keep lip tint as their staple makeup item! Color and plumpness is important! Most of us will just slather on Vaseline or a thin lip balm, but just like your skincare, that probably won’t cut it during the winter. So, what should you do if you want to keep your lips soft and pink during the freezing winter? Just treat it like another skincare routine-layer and layer for your lip care! Let’s go through some steps recommended by Korean vloggers and experts from Get It Beauty for the ultimate Korean Lip Care Routine!

Korean Lip Care

Step One: Exfoliate!

Ask any Korean vlogger, and I’ll bet you that they have an extensive lip care routine as well as skincare routine. The first step? Exfoliation, of course! Make sure you aren’t too harsh on your lips! Choose something with natural exfoliants, like sugar and honey.

Step Two: Moisturize

Layer One

This next step is from a Get It Beauty episode from a while ago. After exfoliating your lips, take aloe vera gel, and slather it all over your lips. This works in the same way that a lip mask would. If you’d rather take the lip mask, go ahead! Even male idols like BAP’s Youngguk use these lip masks!

Layer 2: Lip Balm

After your first layer of moisture, now you go follow through with what we usually use on our lips- lip balm. Only, you don’t want to put it on as you normally would! According to the experts on Get It Beauty, you want to apply the lip balm upwards and downwards, following the natural lines of your lips. This way, you don’t damage the layer of skin on your lips!

Make sure to keep a lip balm at hand at all times, not just at the night! Girls’ Generation Sunny says that she never leaves the house without a lip balm of some sort. That would explain her million-dollar plump lips!

Anyone remember when this lip balm went viral?

Layer 3: Seal It All In!
After your regular lip balm, you can seal the moisture in with either a heavy-duty moisturizer like Vaseline, or you can go in with a sleeping mask or serum. These products make sure to seal all the moisture in, and give your lips the final lock of all the dewy-ness!

Products like Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask are viral in Korea for their ability to lock in that extra moisture!

There’s your winter’s guide to the Korean Lip Care routine! Follow these steps, and you won’t ever have to see dry, colorless lips ever again!
